“Agriculture Service Cooperatives Development and Promotion of Cooperative Movement in Crimea”

The main objective of the project was to raise awareness of the agricultural producers and interested audience in cooperative principles and demonstrate the advantages of cooperatives by way of improving knowledge of the agricultural producers about practical use of the cooperative principles and their function mechanisms in order to maximize the production efficiency, improve marketing of agricultural products, to provide new or missing services and achieve market power.
The target audience of the project were agricultural producers who were not involved into the cooperative activities, members of the initiative groups wishing to create cooperatives, members of the agricultural service cooperatives, other interested audience who lack knowledge about the agricultural service cooperatives and officials from the agricultural departments.

The project achieved its objective through the provision of training to the agricultural producers in the principles of cooperative development and demonstrating the advantages of the multifunctional service cooperatives; training 20 trainers in cooperative development with the aim of creation of service coops in Crimea; establishing cooperative promotion and consulting centers in 10 rayons of Crimea providing the farmers and rural dwellers with the information on legal issues, business planning, general and financial management and creatint multifunctional service cooperatives in 10 rayons.
